João Pitta

Lecturer at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials, Center of Dental Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland

Dr. João Pitta received his dental education and degree at School of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon. From 2015 to 2018 he underwent through a specialization program in Prosthodontics in the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials of University of Geneva, under the supervision of Prof. Irena Sailer. Since 2016 he served as a clinical teaching assistant on the undergraduate courses at University of Geneva.

He received a Master in Advanced Studies and a Doctorate from the same university. He was awarded with an ITI scholarship grant for a 1 year fellowship in Oral Surgery in Eastman Dental Hospital, Rome (Head: Dr. Luca Cordaro). He received the Swiss federal title of Specialist in Reconstructive Dentistry, and the specialization recognition by the European Association of Prosthodontics (EPA). He currently serves as Research and Teaching Fellow at Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials of University of Geneva, as head of the undergraduate clinic of prosthodontics, and supervisor of post-graduate students.

Dr. Pitta is author of numerous publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals in the field of fixed prosthodontics, implant dentistry and digital technologies. He is also active in different professional organizations as Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry (SSRD), International Team for Implantology (ITI) and European Association Osseointegration (EAO).
